Cannibal Corpse needs no introduction if you know what Death Metal is. I’ve noticed a lot of the same criticisms(mostly hidden under anonymous postings or as “kids reviews) What it boils down to is this:
I listened to this album last,oh in about 1997, and of course now. It hasn’t changed…except for the fact I no longer need the lyrics. Does that make me depraved or deranged? no. I’ve come to prefer the first three albums and the Bleeding somewhat(sorry but the pig squeals on that album show why Corpsegrinder is in the band now.
On to the album itself:
This is the bands second release, with Tomb Of The Mutilated to follow, and it shows the band still perfecting their brutal craft.
I cannot pick a favorite, as the album is deservedly a milestone. If you ever wondered what the hype was…start here
