The best self-released Metal album of 2017, “Nocturnes And Requiems” by WITHERFALL, is now being released via Century Media Records! WITHERFALL is the collective brainchild of guitarist Jake Dreyer (Iced Earth, Kobra And The Lotus), singer Joseph Michael (White Wizzard, Midnight Reign) and the late Adam Sagan (Circle II Circle, Into Eternity) who joined forces to begin writing for what was to become “Nocturnes…” in 2013. Virtuoso bassist Anthony Crawford (Alan Holdsworth, Virgil Donati) was then drafted to play bass on the album. WITHERFALL headed to Phoenix, Arizona to self-produce their debut with engineer Ralph Patlan (Megadeth, MSG) in late 2014. For mix and mastering, WITHERFALL relied on Chris "Zeuss" Harris, resulting in eight masterfully executed tracks featuring the group's dynamic blend of darkened melodic and progressive metal. "Nocturnes And Requiems" is dedicated to the life of Adam Sagan, who passed on December 7, 2016 during the final stages of production. Never being able to see, hear the finished album, WITHERFALL dedicated the entire record to Adam’s memory and will continue the band in his spirit. Due to this tragic event, the melancholic cover artwork by Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Dissection, Emperor) and the album’s gloomy, contemplative mood appear even more eerie and intense.
